We had two nights stay on the sland, arriving on the 9am ferry and staying at the Kingfisher Resort so that we had a full day on our own before the tour commenced the following day. Great self guided walks direct from the resort. Picked up the following day for a 4WD bus trip to the key spots of the island. Our guide (Warren) was great, very experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. We visited Lake McKenzie, Central Station with the rain forest and Lake Wabby with plenty of time allowed at each site we didn’t feel at all rushed. It should be noted that it was quite a walk, up hill to get to lake Wabby and, though it was well worth it, it would have been difficult for anyone with mobility difficulties or low fitness levels. Our driver was very skilled in managing the vehicle through the soft sand and, while we passed many car drivers who were bogged down in the sand , we had no problems at all and felt very safe. The second night we stayed at Eurong resort (see separate review). The third day was equally enjoyable, we visited lots of beautiful spots north of Eurong and again didn’t feel at all pressured during the day. We returned back to Kingfisher in good time for the 5pm ferry back to the mainland. It was a fabulous trip which enabled us to properly see Fraser without any of the stresses of having to drive independently on the difficult roads of the island. In reality though it is only a tour of two days, given that the first day was totally at our own leisure.

Due to a lack of people wanting to do this tour we were combined with the 3 day camping tour and stayed at Eurong resort on the other island. Eurong Resort was adequate for our purposes, clean and spacious. Buffet style was served for breakfast and dinner though al-acart menu was available for dinner. The tour rep Megan was brilliant and deserves 5 stars on her own. My criticism is regarding the transport which was tired and it would have been better if the seats faced forward instead of to the sides.

Guide made it a great tour. Andrew was knowledgeable and flexible. The hotel is starting to date but still worth the extra.

The trip was great, hadn't expected to see so much! Great guide, stay at the resort was also great. The only thing, to complain about, was to little space in the car for 8 grown ups.
